SIPRI is pleased to launch a new film capturing insights from global actors on promoting peace in the age of compound political, social, economic and environmental risks reinforced by the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the occasion of World Food Day and against the backdrop of the United Nations Food Systems Summit, the 2021 Global Hunger Index (GHI) is released today. This year’s report focuses on hunger and food systems in conflict settings. Dan Smith, SIPRI Director, and Dr Caroline Delgado, Senior Researcher and Director of SIPRI's Food, Peace and Security Programme, authored the main essay of the report.
On 6 October, a webinar co-hosted by SIPRI and the United Nations Department of Peace Operations (UNDPO) explored the many impacts of Covid-19 on peace operations.
