Youth! Rise for a Greener Future

‘Youth! Rise for a Greener Future' (Dhalinyarooy, U Kaca Mustaqbal Doog leh) explores the links between climate change, environmental degradation, displacement and conflict in Somalia. Aimed at young audiences, this comic shows the effects of climate change and provides a hopeful vision of environmental peacebuilding, highlighting the resilience and ingenuity of Somali youth as they tackle environmental challenges and build peaceful communities. It seeks to inspire, showing how collaboration can turn crises into opportunities for unity. The comic was developed by Freehand Studios, in partnership with SIPRI, the International Organization for Migration Somalia and the Berghof Foundation. It was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, and with funding from the European Union Foreign Policy Instrument and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
