SIPRI and the Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament at Uppsala University, in cooperation with the Odesa Center for Nonproliferation, are now inviting applications to the 2025 Armament and Disarmament Summer School, to be held in Stockholm and Uppsala on 25–29 August.
The summer school is both a course and a networking opportunity for the next generation of professionals in the field of disarmament, non-proliferation and arms control, aimed at supporting and reinvigorating disarmament education activities.
The summer school consists of a five-day programme of in-person lectures, seminars and training workshops on armament and disarmament matters delivered by leading experts. It will also include visits to institutions working in this field. The programme aims to develop participants’ knowledge and skills and empower emerging specialists to further expand their expertise in these critical issues and beyond.
Applications are open for 25 highly motivated graduate students, researchers, policymakers, practitioners or other junior professionals with a relevant profile from governmental or non-governmental organizations or think tanks. The closing date for applications is 28 March.
