Alexander Kaplan

Alexander Kaplan was an intern with the SIPRI Military Expenditure and Arms Production Programme. As part of the Programme, Alexander assisted with the collection and analysis of data on military expenditures and issues relating to their transparency. He supported a project to promote the consistent reporting of disaggregated military spending by UN member states to the UN Report on Military Expenditures.

Prior to joining SIPRI, Alexander interned with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in the Risk and Foresight Group of the International Security Program. There he helped facilitate the 2020 Global Security Forum. Among his research interests are foreign defense aid, U.S. security cooperation, and alliance politics.
