Online event
SIPRI, together with the Stockholm Centre of Eastern European Studies (SCEEUS) at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI), the Swedish Pugwash and the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI), will host a virtual discussion on United States–Russia strategic stability issues, including future risk reduction measures, nuclear and conventional arms control, and military confidence building.
What are the prospects for US–Russian cooperation on these issues and what could we realistically expect from the US–Russia Summit on June 16? What are the strategic consequences, globally and for Europe? What are the security implications of new technologies, such as hypersonic weapons, for the traditional division between strategic and non-strategic issues?
