Katongo Seyuba

Katongo Seyuba is a Research Assistant in the SIPRI Climate Change and Risk Programme. His research focuses on climate-related security risks and policy actors’ responses, particularly in the context of Africa.

Prior to joining SIPRI he has been working on a master’s thesis on climate change adaptation at national and subnational level in Zambia. His thesis aims to investigate local context situations related to planning and implementation of adaptation strategies by relevant policy actors.

He has also worked in Sweden and Zambia, mostly related to themes on sustainable development, citizen participation, equality, and poverty reduction. In Sweden, he interned at the Swedish International Center for Local Democracy (ICLD) and served as chairperson for the Swedish Institute Network for Future Global Leaders (SI NFGL) at Lund University. In Zambia, he worked with the Government of the Republic of Zambia and volunteered with local NGOs and student associations.
