Anniek Barnhoorn is a Policy and Projects Officer working on SIPRI’s Major Initiatives. She was previously a Research Assistant with SIPRI’s Climate Change and Risk Programme where she conducted research and provided policy advice on how intergovernmental organizations are responding to climate-related security risks.
Anniek holds a MSc from Wageningen University & Research and a BSc from Leiden University College The Hague, both in The Netherlands. During her studies she contributed to various youth initiatives, including The West Wing, the youth think tank for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs where she was a board member.
