SIPRI is pleased to release a new map showing all multilateral peace operations active as of May 2018. The data is taken from SIPRI’s Multilateral Peace Operations Database, which contains extensive information on all multilateral peace operations (both UN and non-UN) conducted since 2000, including location, mandate, lead nations, number of deployed personnel and the organizations involved, budget and mission fatalities.

SIPRI’s data and analysis on multilateral peace operations is discussed in the 2018 edition of the SIPRI Yearbook. The chapter ‘Peace operations and conflict management’ includes sections on global and regional trends as well as data on deployments and fatalities in peace operations that were active during 2017. SIPRI has released a topical backgrounder further examining global and regional trends in 2017 from a ten-year perspective.
