SIPRI releases its Annual Review 2017, looking back on the institute’s highlights from the previous year.

The Annual Review 2017 covers SIPRI's work throughout the past year, including maintaining its world-renowned databases and evolving its research agenda to adjust to the global threat environment.

Particular areas of focus in this regard are in the fields of climate security, emerging technologies and nuclear weapons. The work carried out in 2017 demonstrates the institute’s unwavering commitment to enlarge the scope of security to reflect the comprehensive nature of risks to peace in the world.

Key dialogue events such as the fourth annual Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development and the second Stockholm Security Conference sit alongside a host of SIPRI publications and online commentary pieces as a means through which SIPRI seeks to achieve its mandate. The increase in outreach activities—particularly in the new area of film—have had a positive effect in engaging further with SIPRI’s target audiences.
