The SIPRI Governing Board will be chaired by the Deputy Chairman Ambassador Jayantha Dhanapala as Acting Chairman until further notice.
The Governing Board has agreed to appoint an international expert to undertake a comprehensive review of SIPRI and to make recommendations for its future, based on consultations with all relevant stakeholders.

About Tilman Brück
Professor Tilman Brück is a development economist who trained at Glasgow University and Oxford University. His research interests include the inter-relationship between peace, security and development (especially at the micro-level), the economics of post-war reconstruction, and the economics of terrorism and security policy, with country experiences in Angola, Colombia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Uganda and Ukraine. Professor Brück also collects and analyses household-level surveys to study poverty and employment, and the ways in which they relate to conflict. He is a co-founder and co-director of the Households in Conflict Network and a founding member of the Global Young Academy. Professor Brück has also worked as an adviser and consultant for numerous governments and international organizations.
About Göran Lennmarker
Prior to becoming Chairman of the SIPRI Governing Board, Göran Lennmarker was Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Swedish Parliament, a position he held between 2006 and 2010. Göran Lennmarker was elected to the Swedish Parliament in 1991 and served as the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) from 2006 to 2008.
