Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) Founded in 1994 by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and re-charted in June 2017 by a Prime Ministerial Decree, the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding, is an Egyptian public agency specialized in training, capacity building and research in the fields of peace and security in Africa and the Middle East. CCCPA is an African Union Center of Excellence, and the only civilian training center on issues of peace and security in the Arab world. Through its research and convening activities, it has established itself as a leading voice from the Global South on a wide range of topics, including conflict prevention and resolution, peacekeeping and peacebuilding. The Center is currently the Executive Secretariat of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development, the Secretariat of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (IAPTC), and the Board of Directors of the African Peace Support Association (IAPSTA). DCAF - Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance is dedicated to making states and people safer through more effective and accountable security and justice. Since 2000, the Centre has facilitated, driven and shaped security sector reform (SSR) policy and programming around the world. Good security sector governance (SSG), based on the rule of law and respect for human rights, is a cornerstone of development and security. DCAF assists partner states in developing laws, institutions, policies and practices to improve the governance of their security sector through inclusive and participatory reforms based on international norms and good practices. The European Centre of Excellence for Civilian Crisis Management (CoE) The European Centre of Excellence for Civilian Crisis Management (CoE) is an international association working to enhance capabilities to strengthen EU civilian crisis management in the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). Established in 2020, the CoE currently has 19 EU states as members and an office in Berlin with permanent staff and seconded national experts sent by members. The CoE’s key task is to support its members and EU institutions in turning their commitments under the Civilian CSDP Compact into concrete actions. In its activities the CoE cooperates closely with the European External Action Service (EEAS) and other partners and stakeholders. One of the main priorities of the CoE is to promote tangible steps towards equal representation of women and men in CSDP, including an increase in the number and strategic positioning of women in civilian crisis management missions. |

Geneva Call is one of the world’s leading organizations in the field of humanitarian engagement with armed non-state actors (ANSAs). Active in around 15 contexts worldwide, with offices in seven of them, it has developed a humanitarian engagement with over 150 ANSAs since the year 2000. As a neutral, impartial and independent humanitarian organization, Geneva Call works to improve the protection of civilians in armed conflict and strengthen the respect for the law by ANSAs. During conflict, fighters must comply with the “rules of war” as enshrined in international humanitarian law (and the Geneva Conventions in particular). Geneva Call engages ANSAs to encourage them to comply with the rules of war. |

The Global Registry of Violent Deaths (GReVD) is a catalog of every violent death, coded by time and location. GReVD is a consortium comprised of 12 organizations working to build better global violent mortality data. To know whether the world has succeeded in significantly reducing violent deaths by 2030 (Sustainable Development Target 16.1), it is necessary to accurately count violent deaths. As a registry, GReVD integrates data from many sources into a single count, vitally reminding us that every entry is a person. |

We support and build efforts to transform the systems that contribute to human exploitation and violent conflict. HU was founded by The Omidyar Group, a diverse collection of independent organizations and initiatives that pursue different ways to improve the lives of people and societies. |
Impact:Peace Impact:Peace is housed at the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego, and works to leverage evidence to accelerate the most important change processes in the peacebuilding and violence prevention fields. Impact:Peace is one of three co-facilitators of the Peace in Our Cities platform, a network of 18 cities and 30 organizational members working together to halve urban violence by 2030. |
The Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT) The Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT) is an international think tank that brings together under one roof the best of theory and practice in relation to successful negotiations and transitions out of conflict or authoritarian rule. This, by a) advising leaders who are serious about dialogue and achieving inclusive transitions out of conflict or repression. We bring international lessons and comprehensive expertise to the issue; b) helping identify policy options that are creative, realistic and principled. Institute for Security Studies (ISS) The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) works with partners to build knowledge and skills that enable sustainable peace, development and prosperity in Africa. Established in 1991, the ISS is Africa’s leading multidisciplinary human security organisation, with a unique operational model that combines research, policy analysis, technical assistance and training. It is independent, credible and has a reputation for delivering impact locally, nationally, regionally and internationally. The ISS is powered by more than 120 staff working across the continent, representing over 20 African countries. Headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa, the ISS has regional offices in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Dakar, Senegal and Nairobi, Kenya. Some team members are based in Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Nigeria and Zimbabwe. The ISS works with governments, intergovernmental bodies and civil society to develop evidence-based solutions to Africa’s human security challenges. Solving Africa’s complex problems requires accurate information and the ability to build sound relationships of trust with a range of policy-making partners. International IDEA is an intergovernmental organization, based in Stockholm, Sweden, with the mandate to support democratic institutions and processes worldwide. Its Constitution Building Programme, based in The Hague, Netherlands, supports constitution-building processes around the world, by way of developing knowledge resources, organizing and convening workshops and conferences, and advising key stakeholders to these processes. |

Since 1947, QUNO has worked with diplomats, UN officials and civil society to support a UN that prioritizes peace and prevents war. QUNO seeks a UN that addresses key drivers of violence including the structures and systems that produce exclusion and injustice; that facilitates and supports change through peaceful means; and whose policies and practices reflect a diversity of voices, such that people around the world can safely and peacefully achieve their potential. QUNO’s UN programming centers on building and strengthening constituencies of support for people-centered and sustainable strategies for peace. The World Food Programme is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. Two-thirds of WFP’s work is in conflict-affected countries where people are three times more likely to be undernourished than those living in countries without conflict. In emergencies, WFP is often first on the scene, providing food assistance to the victims of war, civil conflict, drought, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, crop failures and natural disasters. When the emergency subsides, WFP helps communities rebuild shattered lives and livelihoods. In 2020, WFP was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize ‘for its efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict. |
