SIPRI hosted the 2017 EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference at Egmont Palace in Brussels on 12–13 December 2017.
The conference encouraged discussion within civil society—particularly among experts, researchers and academics—about measures to combat the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems. The scope of activities also covered issues related to conventional weapons. The annual meeting is part of the work carried out by the EU Non-Proliferation Consortium, managed jointly by four institutes, in close cooperation with the representative of the European Union’s High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
