Sonia Abaei

Sonia Abaei was a Research Assistant in the SIPRI Peace and Development Programme, focusing on providing support to the SIPRI-WFP Knowledge Partnership.

Prior to joining SIPRI, Sonia worked at the Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations (FAO) headquarters in Rome, at the office of Strategy and Planning (OSP) contributing in planning, implementation of Corporate Outcome Assessments (COA) data collection in country level. At FAO, HQs in Land and Water division she supported planning and organisation of the 7 th World Water Forum (2015) in South Korea and Global framework to combat with water scarcity in the context of climate change (WASAG) partners meeting. Her other duty stations were at UNIDO headquarters in Vienna, Austria, and Country office of FAO in Tehran, Iran.
