Björn-Ola Linnér

Björn-Ola Linnér is professor in Environmental Change and at the Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research at Linköping University, Sweden and an associate research fellow at the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society (InSIS) at Oxford University. His research focuses on the geopolitics of sustainability, transnational governance on climate change and sustainable development goals, societal transformations toward sustainable development, and methods for policy analysis and dialogue.

Linnér is the programme director for Mistra Geopolitics, a major 8-year research programme analyzing dynamics between sustainable development and a changing geopolitical landscape. He is a fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry, a member of the Research Council of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency as well as the Swedish scientific council for ecosystem services and biological diversity. He has been a member of the Swedish delegation for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). He is Senior Editor for Oxford Research Encyclopedia, Climate Science and editorial board member for Sustainability.
