Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith is an intern in the SIPRI Arms and Military Expenditure Programme with a focus on arms transfers. He is assisting with the collection and processing of data for the arms transfers database as well as verifying orders and deliveries of major conventional arms.

Jordan completed his Master’s in Violence, Terrorism & Security at Queens University Belfast whilst also interning as a political and security risk analyst for Horizon Intelligence on the company’s sub-Saharan Africa desk. Following his graduation, Jordan joined Shephard Media as a defence researcher and was responsible for writing online news articles covering the global defence and aerospace industry. Alongside his internship at SIPRI, he is working as a COVID-19 tester for the UK’s National Health Service.
