Igor Barreto is an intern in the Food, Peace and Security Programme at SIPRI. He assists the team by collecting data and mapping the implementation of the Colombia’s 2016 Peace Accord.
Igor holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Prior to SIRPI, he interned at the Uppsala Conflict Data Program’s Latin America Project. His work included mapping and coding organized violence and gang-related activities in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.
He is interested in exploring conflict dynamics, with a special focus on organized violence, peacebuilding, arms trade and diversion.
