Dr Damir Esenaliev was a Senior Researcher in SIPRI's Peace and Development Programme. His recent research focuses on impact evaluation of peacebuilding interventions in Kyrgyzstan and on quantitative microeconomic research related to labour markets, welfare, inequality, intergenerational mobility and governance. Prior to joining SIPRI in 2013, he worked at DIW Berlin, the World Bank, and the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.
