Annelies is a Research Assistant with the Sahel and West Africa Programme at SIPRI. Previously Annelies has worked as a Communications and Project Officer for various NGOs and United Nations agencies in Mali, Senegal, Cameroon and Gabon. Prior to joining SIPRI, she was a Rotary Peace Fellow African Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Bradford, UK.
Annelies is particularly interested in the framing & perceptions of conflict and the role of communication technology in the changing socio-political dynamics in (West) Africa.
