Ambassador Lakhdar Brahimi

Ambassador Lakhdar Brahimi is a former Algerian Foreign Minister and Ambassador and was the chair of the Panel on United Nations Peace Operations which produced the influential Brahimi Report. He served as the United Nations and Arab League Special Envoy to Syria from 2012 to 2014. Brahimi has done extensive work in the field of conflict resolution, peacemaking, peacekeeping and has worked more generally on peace and security issues. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics.
