Amal Bourhrous
Amal Bourhrous is Researcher in the SIPRI Middle East and North Africa Programme. Her research interests include the dynamics of identity, citizenship and nation-building as they relate to statehood and sovereignty; the relationship between securitization trends and the political process; and the ways in which the wider geopolitical transformations and the new challenges to international security affect the MENA region.
Prior to joining SIPRI, Amal was a Programme Coordinator at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy. She has also been a junior visiting researcher at the Centre for Strategic Studies in Amman, Jordan. Her MA thesis examined the interaction of religion and politics in Morocco.
