Situated within the Operations Department at SIPRI, the Grant Acquisition and Development Unit is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the institute’s overall fundraising and development efforts. Working in close collaboration with the Director’s Office, Outreach, Operations, and Research staff, the unit ensures a strategic and cohesive approach to resource mobilization across the institute.
The Grants Acquisition and Development Officer plays a central role in strengthening SIPRI’s sustainability and independence by expanding its fundraising capacity and development initiatives. The position focuses on identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, preparing high-quality proposals to maximize success, and enhancing internal skills and knowledge related to fundraising and donor engagement.
