Dr Bates Gill
Dr Bates Gill was Director of SIPRI between 2007–2012. Before joining SIPRI, Dr Gill directed the East Asia programs at the Center for Nonproliferation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies and worked as the Director of the Center for Northeast Asian Policy Studies at the Brookings Institute. In 2012 he was appointed CEO of the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney.
