Ana Assis was a Guest Researcher with the SIPRI Military Expenditure and Arms Production Programme. Her research interests are drivers of military equipment spending, arms industry and naval weapons procurement.
Prior to joining SIPRI, Ana Assis conducted research funded by the Brazilian Ministry of Defense and interned at the National Maritime Foundation (India), where she focused on data collection and analysis regarding naval equipment spending and new technologies. She is currently a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Federal University of Pernambuco.
