On 6–7 December 2021, SIPRI actively participated in the 10th annual EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Conference. The conference, which is funded by the European Union (EU), was organized by the Italian Institute of International Affairs (IAI) on behalf of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC).
Margot Wallström, former Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, introduced SIPRI’s Environment of Peace initiative during her keynote address to the ‘Workshop on Climate, Peace and Security: How to Operationalize Principles on Environmental Peacebuilding’, held in Seville, Spain, on 9–10 December.

SIPRI, in collaboration with its translation partner, the Centre for Arab Unity Studies (CAUS), is pleased to launch the Arabic language translation of SIPRI Yearbook 2020.
This joint event by SIPRI and the Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament at Uppsala University considers the prospects for nuclear arms control and disarmament. The event will be held against the backdrop of the current strategic nuclear arsenals of China, Russia and the United States, and the relations between these three countries.
